Audie DeCastroAudie J. de Castro is a San Diego based business lawyer. He is a partner at Shustak Frost & Partners, PC. (www.shufirm.com), a boutique corporate and securities firm with offices in San Diego and New York city. He is head of the firm's Corporate Law and Business Transactional practice. Prior to joining that firm, Mr. de Castro was the founder and managing shareholder of de Castro, P.C., a business law firm. He was also previously an attorney with Solomon Ward Seidenwurm & Smith (San Diego) and Evans Latham & Campisi (San Francisco).

Mr. de Castro represents clients in a variety of sophisticated transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, licensing, distributorships, and real estate. He has served as counsel to different types of companies, both public and private, including those in high technology, pharmaceutical, medical device, general contractors, real estate, hospitality, retail, service, and non-profit.

He also litigates business disputes, including those involving fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract. With his past CPA experience and forensic accounting background, he has handled shareholder inspection demands and has prosecuted claims of fraud or misappropriation by shareholders and principals.

Mr. de Castro graduated cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was a member of the University of San Francisco Law Review and McAuliffe Honor Society (top 10%). He received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of San Diego. Prior to graduating from law school, Mr. de Castro practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in California.

He is a member of the State Bar of California. He is admitted to practice in all state courts, the U.S. District Courts in the Northern and Southern District, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. de Castro is involved in civic and community affairs. In 2011, he was appointed by the Mayor as Chairman of the City of San Diego Consolidated Plan Advisory Board, which advises the City Council on the policies and procedures for the fair distribution of millions of dollars of community development block grant funds (CDBG) and Emergency Shelter Grants to local non-profit organizations. He is former Commissioner of the City of San Diego Citizens Equal Opportunity Commission and previously served on a Mayoral Advisory Board. He is also past President of the Asian Business Association of San Diego. He is a graduate of LEAD San Diego (2003). Mr. de Castro has received numerous awards for his community service, including a Star Award from the San Diego Performing Arts League, President's Award of Community Service from the Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego, and Pan Pac Honors Award from the Pan Pacific Law Enforcement Association.
